C脡ARD 脡 SC脫R / WHAT IS SC脫R?聽
Sc贸r combines all the colour and rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element聽of Ireland鈥檚 traditional past-times. The competition was established by the GAA in聽1969 with the aim of promoting Ireland鈥檚 traditional past-times and culture while聽offering club members the chance to meet up, have fun and represent their club聽during the winter months while Hurling, Football, Handball, Camogie, Ladies聽Football and Rounders had ceased.
There are 8 events/disciplines in Sc贸r that cover all aspects of Irish culture,
Figure/C茅il铆 Dancing, Solo Singing, Recitation/Storytelling, Ballad Group, Novelty聽Act, Instrumental Music, Set Dancing and Quiz. The competition is divided into two聽age levels, Sc贸r na n脫g for people under 17 years and Sc贸r Sinsir for those over 17聽years of age.
Please contact mickmoriarty1@gmail.com if you can help organise any of the above events or have children interested in participating,
