Two first half goals ,one by Sam Morrissey after ten minutes and the second by Alex Beirne after 27 minutes gave Naas a 2 – 7 to 0 – 4 interval lead. Naas donated the second half in which Kilcullen failed to score.
Naas got off to a great start with points from Alex Beirne and Paddy McDermott followed by a Sam Morrissey goal after ten minutes. Kilcullen reduced the arrears with a point from a “45” from their goalkeeper Cormac Barker. Then Sam Morrissey and Dan Coughlan exchanged points.
Naas added on three points from Brendan Quinn, Dan Woulfe and Eoghan Maguire before Coughlan scored again for Kilcullen. An Alex Beirne goal after 27 minutes gave Naas a nine point lead. The sides exchanged points before the half-time whistle. Naas led 2 – 7 to 0 – 4.
Naas dominated the second half with unanswered scores from Alex Beirne(0 – 2), Joe Murphy(0 – 3), Eoghan Archbold(0 – 1) and a Dermot Lynch goal with the last kick of the game.
