St. Laurences had a well deserved two point victory over a Naas side who were only a pale shadow of the side that won the Leinster Leader cup three weeks ago. Star man for the Larries was Podge Fogarty who scored seven of their nine points.
Laurences started well with two points from Darragh Miley and Podge Fogarty. Naas replied with a .Darragh Kirwan point . Two more Fogarty points had Laurences ahead at the interval 0 – 4 to 0 – 1.
Naas started well in the second half with points from Luke Griffin and Eamonn Callaghan to leave one between them. A Fogarty free stretched the lead to two points. But Darragh Kirwan pointed for Naas after an Ailin McDermott pass.
Fogarty and Griffin exchanged points as Larries led by 0 – 6 to 0 – 5 halfway through the second half. The Larries extended their lead to three points again with points from Fogarty and Barry Mackey. Naas replied with points from Brian Byrne and Eamonn Callaghan. However the last point went to St.Laurences and Fogarty.
