Naas Gaa will be hoping for good weather next Saturday June 10th as we hold their annual U10 Hurling

Clubs from all over Ireland will travel to the Sallins road club to take on the best in their particular sport.

The U10 Hurling Tournament, held in association with the Town House Hotel on Saturday with the first games throwing in at 10:30am. Now in its 18th year, this is a hugely successful tournament featuring the top hurling clubs from all over Ireland.

Past winners include Ahane, Kilmacud Crokes, James Stephen’s and the mighty Dicksboro of Kilkenny. Naas Juvenile hurling has made huge progress over the last number of years and now competes with the top clubs around Ireland.

Tournaments such as these make for great days out with fabulous hurling, friendships made and of course plenty of free tea and sandwiches.

They prepare the players for greater contests ahead including Féile, the Kilkenny leagues at U16 level and of course the ultimate, representing County Kildare at all levels.

The next Joe Canning and Jack Sheridan will be among the 250 plus players performing on the day.

This year will be particularly special as we welcome North Antrim for the first time. It will be a colourful day with Caherline, St Catherines and St Mary’s Clonmel representing Munster.

Leinster will be well represented with Kilmacud Crokes, Ballyboden St Endas, Dicksboro and Glynn Barntown. Flying the flag for Kildare will be Éire Óg, Maynooth and hosts Naas.

The Maynooth Brass and Reed Band will be in attendance to entertain the crowd at lunchtime and lead all the players on a parade before playing the National Anthem for the finals.

Be sure to come down and watch the stars of the future play top class hurling.
