The Senior Footballers were pipped right at the finish in their opening championship clash against St. Laurances’s at the weekend on a score line of St. Laurences 1-9 Naas 1-7. Naas held the lead for most of the game but in the dying minutes conceded two late points in a game they deserved to get something out of. They now have to lift themselves for their vital league games this week where they take on Robertstown in an away fixture on Wednesday 9th @ 7.30pm and on Saturday 12th they play Sallins in the final round of the league in a home fixture @ 7pm. Best wishes to all involved with the Minor team when they play Na Fianna in Raheens on Wednesday 9th @7.30pm in their opening championship game.
The best of luck to the Intermediate hurlers in their championship game against Celbridge on Thursday 10th @ 7.30pm in Clane. The Minor hurlers continue in the league with an away fixture against Killard on Sunday 13th @ 7pm. Please support all our teams.
Well done to the the Camogie Minor County team who won the Minor All Ireland Championship in the one day All Ireland Blitz held in Aughrim at the weekend. Naas was represented by Cliona MacSweeney, Noleen Fleming, Fiona Trant and Roisin Mellet who all put in terrific performances. Cliona was rewarded for her displays when she won the award of “Player of the Tournament”. Well done to the management team of Niamh Calcannon (Celbridge) and our own Nora Fleming for the work put in with this team.

Well done to the Grounds Committee for managing to brave the elements and complete the sanding of the Main Pitch and canal area. This work began on Friday evening (4th) and was still ongoing at midnight. It resumed on Saturday morning and was completed by mid afternoon. A fantastic job and again well done to all.
A great night was had by everyone in the club for the Leg Wax in aid of Childline and despite missing some body hair everyone really enjoyed the craic! Your support was really appreciated. Special praise goes to Brian and Eric who organised the whole event.
A special thanks also to Vinny Walsh who was our MC on the night and to Eddie Mullins who kindly sponsored the food. The Music was supplied by JP, who were excellent. Well done to all who suffered the torture, CHILDLINE benefited greatly from your pain and good humour.
