Success for Naas U14 camogie team in 7s Competition!

Naas U14 Camogie team, representing Kildare played in the Saint Peters Dunboyne U14 7’s Competition on Saturday.

A hugely spirited team performance saw Naas win all 3 group stage games comfortably. Well taken scores from Eimear Tuohy, Sophie Hazzard, Amy O’Neill & Katja Weinfroth alongside some heroic performances in defense from Megan Riordan, Grace Nugent & goalkeeper Clodagh Corry were the deciding factors.

Inspirational performances from Alannah Byrne, Emer Keane & Almha O’Rourke eased Naas through both the quarter final & semifinal games with ease. Scores coming from Almha O’Rourke, Eimear Tuohy, Amy O’Neill & Sophie Hazzard proved to be the undoing of both opposition teams.

In warm conditions Naas started the final strong and never looked back. Scores from Alannah Byrne, Amy O’Neill, Eimear Tuohy, Almha O’Rourke, Katja Weinfroth & Sophie Hazzard proved again to be the difference. Consistently strong in defense were Megan Riordan, Grace Nugent & Emer Keane who were rarely troubled. When called upon to perform, shot-stopper Clodagh Corry never failed to deliver.

Unbeaten from start to finish Naas thoroughly deserved being crowned worthy 7’s champions.

The Naas team consisted of:
Clodagh Corry, Megan Riordan, Grace Nugent, Emer Keane, Alannah Byrne, Sophie Hazzard, Katja Weinfroth [Capn , Amy O’Neill, Eimear Tuohy & Almha O’Rourke.
