An extremely busy weekend of games for Naas and Kildare in all codes!

Oíche Bronnadh Duaiseanna/Awards Night
For all those lucky enough to be in attendance at our Awards night last Saturday, it was certainly a night to remember. The highlight of the night being the presentation of medals to our Senior Camogie championship team bridging a 59 year gap for Senior camogie success in the club. There was a fitting tribute paid to Eamonn Callaghan to mark his retirement from Kildare after an incredible 17 year career. There were player of the year awards presented to deserving players in every code as well as special recognition for some of our county players who excelled in 2018. There are a fantastic selection of photographs on our Naas GAA Club Facebook page.

Naas Player Orlaith Delaney wins GAA writing Award

The GAA Museum’s Secondary School Writing Competition was held recently. The competition was held to celebrate 20 years of the GAA Museum and encouraged students to submit essays, short stories and poems on the theme of ‘The GAA is at the heart of who we are.’ Orlaith Delaney a football and camogie player here in Naas was selected from hundreds of entries as one of the winners. Orlaith and her parents Bernard and Sinead attended a special presentation recently in Croke Park where all winners were congratulated by An Uachtarán Cumann Lúthcleas Gael, John Horan.

Orlaith wrote a wonderful entry about her experience of the Feile Camogie Final in 2017. The piece can be downloaded and read here. It is a fantastic read.

Well done Orlaith from all in Naas GAA!
