U21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL.

Naas qualified for the semi-final of the U21 championship with a comfortable seven point victory over Aylmer Gaels in Ballyteague. Naas laid the foundation for this success in the first fifteen minutes . After which Naas led 0 – 7 to 0 – 1. At the interval the Gaels had reduced the arrears to five with Naas leading 0 – 8 to 0 – 3.


Aylmer Gaels tried hard in the second half with County U20 star Jimmy Hyland scoring six points. However Naas were too strong on this occasion.


Naas opened the scoring with a point from a free. The Gaels replied with a point from Jimmy Hyland. Naas then hit six unanswered points to lead 0 – 7 to 0 – 1 after fifteen minutes. Two points for the Gaels reduced the arrears but Colm Joyce finished as he started with a Naas point. At Half-time Naas led 0 – 8 to 0 – 3.


Aylmer Gaels opened the scoring in the second half with a point from a free. Naas replied with points from Luke griffin, Tom Browne and Shane Ryan. Two Aylmer Gaels points left five between them. Naas pulled away again with two Luke Griffin frees and a Sean Cullen point. 


Jimmy Hyland and Alex Beirne swapped points before the end.
