Naas qualified to meet Moorefield in the senior football championship semi-final after a well earned three point victory over St. Laurences in the quarter final at St. Conleths Park. In a closely contested first half Naas led by a point at the interval with a Ronan Joyce free in injury time.


A goal and a point gave Naas a four point lead after ten minutes but the Larries were quick to reply with a goal and a point of their own. However Naas were the better side in the second half and dominated the last ten minutes scoring four points to one Laurences.


Laurences opened the scoring with a free but Ronan Joyce replied with one of his own. Ailin McDermott put Naas ahead after ten minutes. A Paddy Fogarty point and an Adam Steed goal gave the Larries a four point lead after fifteen minutes.


 Points by Ciaran Doyle(2), Ailin McDermott and Ronan Joyce edged Naas in front after twenty three minutes. Paddy Fogarty and Ronan Joyce swapped points in injury time to give Naas a one point lead at the interval 0 – 7 to 1 – 3.


A Ronan Joyce free stretched the Naas lead to two at the start of the second half but two from Fogarty brought the sides level again. An Ailin McDermott goal followed by an Eamonn Callaghan point gave Naas a four point cushion.


 Laurences were quick to reply to reply with a Mark Glynn  point followed by an Adam Steed goal levelled matters again. The teams swapped points again after twenty minutes. Naas dominated the last ten minutes with three unanswered points from Ailin McDermott, Ronan Joyce and Aiden Begley to win by three.
