A strong Celbridge side defeated Naas by six points in this quarter final clash. 


The foundation for this Celbridge victory came in the opening ten minutes when they scored 1 – 3 to 0 – 1 for Naas. 


Try as they did in the second quarter Naas could not breach that gap. Naas had a lot of possession during this time but could not convert it to scores . At the interval Celbridge led 1 – 6 to 0 – 3.


Celbridge started well in the second half with two early points and after fifteen minutes led 1 – 12 to 0 – 6. 


Naas dominated the last quarter scoring five points to two for Celbridge.

Naas opened the scoring with a Ronan Joyce point after four minutes. 


Celbridge replied with points from Paddy Brophy, Shane Harte and Tony Archbold and an 11th. minute goal from Davy Hughes. 


Then Ronan Joyce and Fergal Conway swapped points before Celbridge widened the gap to seven points with points from Paddy Brophy and Davy Hughes. A Ronan Joyce free completed the first half scoring. Celbridge led 1 – 6 to 0 - 3.


Celbridge scored ther first teo points of the second half from Paddy Brophy and Hugh Mc Grillen. Then Fergal Conway and Eamonn Callaghan swapped points. 


Two more Celbridge points had them 1 – 11 to 0 – 4 up after eight minutes. The sides then exchanged points from John Joyce (Naas) and Mick O’Grady (Celbridge)


.. Naas were getting more into the game now with a Shane Bergin “45” and a Ronan Joyce free. Celbridge replied with a davy Hughes point. 


Naas then scored three in a row from Ronan Joyce (2|) and Paul McDermott. 


They also had an Aiden Begley shot for goal brilliantly saved by Shane McNamara in the Celbridge goal
