Sunday April 23rd 2017 was the day that the Féile na nGael finals were held in St Conleths Park Newbridge.

It will be a day that will be remembered by all Naas supporters who attended as Naas went on win both finals in close and exciting matches.


The Féile B final started at 10:30 and Naas were out of the blocks early taking a two goal advantage very quickly. Moorefield fought back and were well in contention through the first half with well taken points. Thanks to some very resolute defence Naas managed to keep the Moorefield team at bay and thus create the chance needed by lethal forward unit who sent Naas into a half time lead of Naas 5:03 v’s 2-06 for Moorefield.

The second half was eagerly anticipated and it lived up to its expectations as both teams traded scores. Moorefield made the brighter start and brought the game back to a two point game in favour of Naas with continues pressure yielding scores. Naas then hit a purple batch and scored two goals without reply. However they again had to withstand a Moorefield assault on the Naas goal. Moorefield closed the gap to 6 points but Naas held on to win the match.

At the final whistle there were wild celebrations by this young team as the achieved Féile B success. The trophy was presented to Conor Doyle who captained the team on the day. Conor thanked the players, mentors and supporters of both clubs and offered three cheers to the Moorefield team who played a magnificent game.
