Minor Football League Div. 1 Naas 2- 9 Moorefiel 0-9   13/03/2017

Two goals in the 5th. and 30th. minutes gave Naas a five point interval lead after playing with the breeze in the first half. Moorefield suffered another set back at the start of the second half when one of their players was red carded.

It was score for score in the second half but Moorefield failed to make any inroads in the Naas lead. The last point of the game was scored by Dallen Gallagher for Naas to give them a six point winning margin.

Moorefield opened the scoring with a point from a free from Ian Dunne. Naas replied with a similar score from Luke Griffin who found the net a minute later to give Naas a three point lead. Moorefield were level within ten minutes with three unanswered points from Callum Soarke, Ian Dunne and Brendan Kelly. The sides exchanged two points each from Darragh Kirwan (Naas) and Evan O’Brien (Moorefield). A late burst from Naas saw them take a five point interval lead with points from Keith O’Connor and Colm Joyce and a goal from O’Connor. Naas led 2 – 5 to 0 – 6 at half-time.

In the second half Moorefield opened the scoring with an Ian Dunne free which was cancelled by a Darragh Kirwan point. A brace of points from frees by Joyce for Naas was matched by Kelly for Moorefield. With twelve minutes to go there was still five between them Naas 2 – 8 Moorefield 0 – 9. In the 22nd minute Dallen Gallagher completed the scoring for Naas.
